Ok.. Think..

In a normal software you have to Install the software into the computer..

What happened when we install a software..? There can be many answer for this question. One major answer is, When we creating a software, we are using lot of pre-made components. Most of these components comes with the Operating System, like Buttons, Text Box, etc. But Sometimes the Operating System components are not enough to create a good software. So we have to made our own components or use someone else(called 3rd Party components). By using these components, when we run our software on a another computer we have to introduce those new components that we used to computer's operating system. By installing a software, the installation process copy and introduce all the components need to run our software.. You can see these files when you installing a software(it will copy lot of files except the main program file).

The major disadvantage of installing software is, if you do not have a installation privileges in the computer you cannot install them. That mean you cannot use the software.. .sad. You can experience this situation on a university or office computer network. Also when you move from one computer to another you have to install the software to that computer.

To overcome this problem we can use portable software.bggrn. . In a portable software it do not need to do any kind of formal installation. Also mostly those softwares comes as a one file. You simple double click and run the software. Actually that one file contains all the files that required to run the software..

It will be little bit longer to explain how the portable software runs, so I'll leave it to later.. I explain the long process in the simplest way, so there might be some parts missing and sorry about the long answer.
